Each year, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits seeks nominations for individuals to represent their communities and serve on the MCN board of directors. Leaders of MCN member nonprofit organizations are encouraged to nominate themselves or a colleague for a board position.
MCN’s Nominating Committee will begin work early each year to identify gaps in board representation, and identify areas of our recruitment and election process that can be reviewed with our lens towards an equitable and just society.
Nominations will open in May and close in August, and voting will open in October. A three-year term for the newly elected board members will start in January of the next year.
Once a slate of nominees is finalized, MCN will invite each of its nonprofit member organizations to vote to fill the current board vacancies with the appropriate number of candidates.
Things to know about the board election process:
Voting will open to ALL nonprofit members via an email sent in October, with online voting remaining open for two weeks.
Each nonprofit member organization will be allowed to submit one ballot. If multiple ballots are submitted from the same organization, MCN will include only the first ballot submitted.
